Daily Bleed for Nov. 21st

                              I am turtle,
& death is not yet my robe,
for drums still throb the many
centers of my tribes, & a young
                          child smiles me of tomorrow,
                              "& grandparent,"
                          another child whispers, "please
tell me again my clan's beginning."

                          — Peter Blue Cloud (Aroniawenrate),
                          excerpt, "Turtle"
